Is it okay to move employees from one arrangement to another?
Yes, as long as it is reflected in the employee’s employment contract. However, for salary sacrifice, you should ensure that it does not take the employee’s National Minimum Wage (NMW) below the minimum requirement.
Do we set up one scheme or two if some employees are on salary sacrifice and some are not?
If it is with one provider, you can set up one pension scheme in Pento and select all relevant tax relief types applicable to that pension. At an employee level, you can then select the tax relief type applicable to that employee.
Can we edit the pension enrolment letters in Pento?
At the moment, Pento doesn't offer the capability to edit letters. You can create a separate letter for your team members if you need to send out any additional info.
If there is more than one pension scheme, will the report break down the amounts to be paid?
Yes, the report will reflect the different schemes that have been set up according to the scheme that the employee is in.
Does the pension report show employee contributions for those on salary sacrifice?
No, Pento will automatically report employee and employer contributions as a total, employer-only contribution per pension reporting requirements for salary sacrifice.
