Create custom organizational fields to categorize your employees on a more granular level and track costs effectively.
Once you’ve assigned fields to your employees, the Payroll report will automatically include columns for each of the fields and values you have created. To learn how to access a payroll report, see How to download a payroll report.
How to create a custom organizational field
- From the left side bar, select Settings > Organisational structure.
- Click New field.
- Enter a Field name (e.g. Location, Team, etc.).
- Click Create field.
How to add values to an organizational field
Once you’ve created your required fields, add values to them. You can add as many values as you require for each field.
- From the left side bar, select Settings > Organisational structure.
- Click Add value under the relevant field.
- Enter the value name into the Name field and click Save.
How to rearrange organizational fields
Rearrange the organizational fields to change the order the fields appear on employee profiles.
- From the left side bar, select Settings > Organisational structure.
- Click Rearrange fields.
- Drag and drop the fields into the desired order.
- Click Save.
How to categorize employees using organizational fields
- From the left side bar, select Employees.
- Select the relevant employee.
- The fields are listed on the right side of the General tab. Use the drop down menus to assign the correct values to the employee.
- Click Save changes.
How to edit or delete values
- From the left side bar, select Settings > Organisational structure.
- To edit a value name, click the pencil icon to the right of the value name. Once you’ve made changes, click Save.
- To delete a value name, click the trash can icon to the right of the value name. You can use the dropdown menu to Move assigned employees to a different value, or select Don’t move employees. Click Delete.
How to delete a field
- From the left side bar, select Settings > Organisational structure.
- Select Edit in the top right corner of the relevant field’s tile.
- Click Delete.
- Mark I understand and click Delete.
