Our main priority is to get your employees paid. From time to time, your payday will fall on either a weekend or a Bank Holiday, this means that the payment to staff will be made on the last working day prior to the actual pay date in your Pento settings.
Payments Timeline
Your payroll draft will always show the actual pay date defined in your company settings, however, you can see the date payment will be made in the Payments timeline on the summary page under the Payrolls option in the sidebar
In the example above, the pay date is defined as the Last Working Day of the month, as this falls on a Sunday, the payment will be made on 29th October as per the Payments timeline
Please note – This will be the same for HMRC payments, if the 18th of the month falls on either a Weekend or Bank Holiday, the payment will be made on the last working day prior to the 18th. This will also show in the Payments timeline
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I want to pay on a bank holiday or weekend?
By default we’ll monitor and auto-calculate the pay date dependent on whether it falls on a bank holiday or weekend.
It’s not currently possibly in Pento for you to permanently set a pay date to not be influenced by bank holidays or weekends. It is possible to temporarily circumvent this behaviour but requires a manual change on our side.
Please contact the Support team and confirm the date you wish the payment to fall on, they'll then be able to adjust the date for you.
Please note – If your account does not have the full amount prior to confirming, the system will not schedule a full batch of payments.
